This book summarizes all the books in the series. It provides the instructor with the sum-mary as well as the learning material presented in each book. As third graders progress through the year, some words and topics will be addressed in these books to enhance their third-grade curriculum. Mrs. McCloud and Her Metamorphic Mentors will get to experience this first-hand. The activities in these books are third-grade-level assignments teaching the students how to have each leadership trait and use that trait effectively.
Students learn Metamorphism as early as preschool when looking at butterflies changing. It is not a stretch for third graders to understand metamorphosis when discussing the changing of animals such as butterflies. Mentors are not a traditional third-grade level word; however, it has been my experience that when working with third graders, they will understand what that means when presented to them in a way they know. For example, being a Mentor could mean being an example and helping someone do a particular thing.
Using this book in conjunction with the box series of Mrs. McCloud and Her Metamorphic Mentors can be an enormous teaching experience for the instructor and a meritorious experience for the student. Students read the books, and there is a badge at the back of each book. When they have read all ten books, they get a Certificate of Leadership located at the back of this book for you, as the educator, to use. There is a copy of the Certificate in the last book of the series “Phoebe the Prepared.”
The books as a series vary from 3.2 to 4.0 grade levels. There is a page at the end of this book that breaks down the projects. Within this page, you will find the important vocabulary words that each book discusses.
The actual traits spell out LEADERSHIP.
